Where to start…….Jacalyn and Gerry were truly made for each other. Gerry with his goofy smile, Jacalyn with her occasional tongue shooting out to catch a lick, these guys were a pleasure to hang with and photograph.
After shooting their engagement session at West Point, I knew they were willing to do just about anything to get a shot. My favorite capture was them on the helipad where Marine One lands with our President. Despite all the warning signs about stay out, it was only moments after the shot did we see some MP’s coming our way. Sometime you need to test the limits to get some truly great images and having the proper Military ID always helps.
Fast forward, their wedding day was met with similar tests of trickery. Not only was it cold (38 degrees to be exact) but the winds had to have gusts of 30mphs all day long. Having the ceremony moved from the 3,600′ summit of Hunter Mountain to the security of The Kaatskill Mountain Club Great Room, of course they said they were still going to the top for photos no matter what.
Well just like the helipad at West Point, no risk meant no reward. Our opening image says it all. (no photoshop here, real clouds, real winds, real cold but they rock’ed it….and so did we!) ENJOY.

John - Thank you so much for the kind words. Qing and I really enjoy what we do and Jacalyn and Gerry were so much fun to work with. We all just wish it was a little warmer on top so we didn’t have to rush so much.
